AC Milan delivered a commanding performance at San Siro on Wednesday night, defeating city rivals Inter 3–0 in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final, securing a 4–1 aggregate victory and advancing to the final.
Serbian striker Luka Jović was the standout performer, scoring twice—first with a header from an Alex Jiménez cross, and then capitalizing on a defensive lapse following a corner. Tijjani Reijnders added a third goal late in the match, sealing Milan’s progression to their first Coppa Italia final since the 2017–18 season.
The victory not only ended Inter’s aspirations for a treble but also marked Milan’s third win over their rivals this season, including a Supercoppa Italiana triumph in January. Despite a challenging league campaign, currently sitting ninth in Serie A, Milan now has the opportunity to secure a second trophy this season.
Inter, who had a promising start with Federico Dimarco hitting the crossbar and Lautaro Martínez missing a key opportunity, were unable to capitalize and now face a demanding schedule, including an upcoming Champions League semi-final against Barcelona.
AC Milan will face the winner of the Bologna vs. Empoli semi-final in the Coppa Italia final, scheduled for May 14 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
