Croatia looked to be on track to advance to the knockout stage with Luka Modric’s thrilling goal, but it will now be Italy facing Switzerland in Berlin this Saturday. Italy managed to secure the second spot in Group B, just behind Spain, in a truly stunning match in Leipzig.
Croatia, who had previously also let in a late equaliser against Albania, now require England to defeat Slovenia by a minimum of three goals on Tuesday in order for them to advance as one of the top third-placed teams with only two points.
