The player was wandering the streets of Paris and was caught red-handed by the police. The confirmation came from the Olympic committee of the Oceanian country. A 28-year-old athlete from the Australian field hockey Olympic team was arrested last night in Paris while trying to purchase cocaine.

According to the reconstruction made by the French capital police, the athlete had left the Olympic village on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday with some teammates. While roaming around the capital, the Australian was stopped by the police outside a building in the IX arrondissement. The officers caught him in the act of buying drugs. Law enforcement arrested him on the spot with a dose of cocaine in his possession. The alleged dealer (a 17-year-old) was also arrested. According to investigators, the buyer is a 28-year-old Australian athlete. This news was confirmed by the Australian Olympic committee (AOC), which, however, did not disclose the identity of the arrested person: “We are also conducting internal investigations,” stated the Aussie committee in a note.
The English press also names the alleged culprit, who would be one of the medalists from Tokyo
