The National Olympic Committees, which are part of the International Committee of Mediterranean Games, showcased remarkable performance at the Paris Olympic Games.

They secured 172 medals from the total of 1,036 distributed at the Olympics, accounting for 16.6% of all medals awarded. This underscores the significant contribution of the Mediterranean Games in advancing sports and Olympic ideals and highlights the commendable efforts of the National Olympic Committees.

Among the medals won were 46 gold, 57 silver, and 69 bronze, from a pool of 2,348 athletes representing the NOCs linked with the International Committee of Mediterranean Games. Special attention should be given to France, which secured fifth place in the medal standings with a total of 64 medals—16 gold, 26 silver, and 22 bronze—as well as to Italy, which finished ninth. The Italian team achieved 40 medals, comprising 12 gold, 13 silver, and 15 bronze.

Spain secured the 15th position with a tally of five gold, four silver, and nine bronze medals.

Albania made history by clinching its first-ever Olympic medals. They earned two bronze medals in wrestling, with Chermen Valiev taking bronze in the 74kg freestyle category and Islam Dudaev in the 65kg category. In four different sports, athletes from Mediterranean countries stood on the podium.

In the men’s triple jump final: Jordan Diaz from Spain won gold, Pedro Pichardo from Portugal took silver, and Andy Diaz Hernandez from Italy claimed bronze.
