Lewis Hamilton has spoken for the first time about Felipe Massa’s £64 million lawsuit against Bernie Ecclestone, Formula 1, and the FIA over the 2008 world championship.
Massa claims there was a cover-up after Nelson Piquet Jr’s deliberate crash at the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix, which he believes cost him the title. His lawyers want a full High Court trial, while the defence argues the case is too old to proceed.
Massa is seeking compensation and an apology but is not asking for Hamilton’s title to be overturned.
Speaking ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix, Hamilton said: “It’s nothing to do with me. I’m just focused on my job and my weekends.”
