The Football for the Goals project, run together by the Inħobb il-Futbol Foundation, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Sustainability, launched the second edition of its 2025 programme on Friday, 24 October, at the Centenary Stadium Hall.
This educational project aims to help Year 6 students from 15 schools, 14 in Malta and Nadur Primary in Gozo, learn about the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through fun lessons and physical activity.
During the launch event, a draw was held to assign each school one of the SDGs, for example, Gudja Primary was given SDG 1 – No Poverty, and Nadur Primary received SDG 2 – Zero Hunger. Each school’s participants were also given T-shirts representing their SDG.

With the draw completed, the schools are now getting ready for the next big event, the First Football Fun Festival on 21 November. After that, they will begin the SDG learning phase with the support of dedicated representatives.
