Toyota Gazoo Racing, the motorsport arm of the Japanese car company, will become the main sponsor of the Haas Formula 1 team from next season. The agreement strengthens their current technical partnership.
Haas, who are based in the United States and use Ferrari engines, will change their name to TGR Haas F1 from 2026.
Team principal Ayao Komatsu said the partnership has worked very well so far and that both sides have benefited from working closely together. He expects the cooperation to grow even stronger.
Haas are the smallest of what will be 11 teams on next year’s grid and are currently eighth in the standings ahead of this weekend’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The team signed a long-term technical deal with Toyota in October last year, bringing the Japanese manufacturer back into F1 for the first time since 2009. Toyota has been helping with design, engineering and manufacturing work, as well as giving young drivers, mechanics and engineers experience through testing older cars.
Toyota chairman Akio Toyoda said he has seen young Toyota drivers and engineers grow in confidence this year. He added that the next generation is ready to take its first steps onto the world stage, and that Toyota is “on the move” again in Formula 1.
TGR Haas F1 will reveal their 2026 car livery online on 23 January, before completing a private test at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya from 26–30 January.
