The Żurrieq FC Under-9 team spent their mid-term holidays in Poland between 31st October and 4th November, taking part in a training and cultural exchange at the Rekord Bielsko-Biała Academy.
The young players, all born in 2017, participated in training sessions led by coaches Witek Moroń from Rekord Bielsko-Biała, and Żurrieq coaches Leonard Farrugia and Rowen Camilleri, focusing on cognitive awareness and small-sided games that encouraged learning through play.
Throughout the trip, the team faced challenging matches against the Borussia Dortmund Polish Academy, Rekord Bielsko-Biała, and Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała. The experience provided valuable lessons in teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship, as the players showed determination and enthusiasm throughout.

Beyond football, the group also enjoyed sightseeing and a visit to a ski resort, offering the children a broader cultural experience.

The trip concluded with a visit to the BVB Łukasz Piszczek Academy, established through a partnership between the Łukasz Piszczek Academy Foundation and Borussia Dortmund. The academy focuses on developing young players through structured learning pathways from foundational to advanced levels, serving over 170 players across different age groups.

For the Żurrieq FC Under-9 players, the week in Poland was both an educational and memorable experience, blending sport, learning, and friendship in an international setting.
