With the help of weekly Team of the Week graphics and matchday MVPs, fans can now have their say on who stood tallest during a pivotal month.
Bonello dominates in goal
Ħamrun Spartans goalkeeper Henry Bonello emerges as a leading contender for the LifeStar MVP. The veteran shot-stopper was named in three Teams of the Week (MW28, MW30, MW31), keeping crucial clean sheets and producing key saves in high-pressure scenarios. His consistency in April was unmatched.
Multiple appearances boost defender cases
Gżira United’s Thaylor Aldama stood out not only for his defensive work but also for his attacking involvement. Aldama was selected in two Teams of the Week (MW28, MW30) and named MVP during his side’s draw with Balzan. Teammate Bohrer Mentz also impressed with back-to-back TOTW nods in MW29 and MW30, strengthening his case.
Diogo Tavares of Żabbar St. Patrick contributed at both ends of the pitch, earning an MVP award and two Team of the Week spots, proving vital in his club’s late-season resurgence.
Midfield engines and attacking sparks
Ħamrun’s Roko Prša was instrumental in MW28’s win over Birkirkara and picked up an MVP award for his controlling presence in midfield. Marsaxlokk winger Dodo delivered a statement performance in MW28, earning MVP honours after a commanding display in their 4-0 win over Mosta.
Sliema Wanderers’ Awad was a consistent attacking outlet, featuring in three Teams of the Week (MW28, MW29, MW31), and contributing directly to goals in tight contests. Myles Beerman, also of Sliema, capped off April with an MVP nod and solid performances from left-back.
Coaches in contention
Winston Muscat (Ħamrun Spartans) is firmly in the Coach of the Month conversation, recognised in MW28 as he guided his side to key wins that kept title hopes alive.
George Vella (Naxxar Lions) earned praise in MW29 after steering his team to a disciplined victory against stiff opposition. Vincenzo Potenza of Marsaxlokk was the standout tactician in MW30, while Darren Abdilla (Floriana FC) took coaching honours in MW31 following a tactically astute performance.
