Inter Milan rebounded from back-to-back Serie A defeats with a 2-1 victory over Sassuolo on Sunday.
Federico Dimarco opened the scoring early, finishing off a move involving Petar Sucic, before Carlos Augusto doubled the advantage in the 81st minute with a deflected strike. Walid Cheddira reduced the deficit for Sassuolo three minutes later after combining with Domenico Berardi.
The win came after Inter’s losses to Udinese and Juventus in the league, though they had beaten Ajax 2-0 in the Champions League midweek. Inter now sits on six points, having begun the campaign with a 5-0 thrashing of Torino.
Sassuolo, last season’s Serie B champion, remains on three points.
Elsewhere, Lorenzo Pellegrini’s goal secured Roma a 1-0 win over Lazio in the Rome derby. Nikola Krstovic struck twice as Atalanta eased past Torino 3-0; Como came from behind to beat Fiorentina 2-1 thanks to Jayden Addai’s stoppage-time winner; and newly promoted Cremonese extended their unbeaten start with a goalless draw against Parma, a match new signing Jamie Vardy did not feature in.
