Torino goalkeeper Alberto Paleari made several key saves to help his team earn a 0-0 draw against city rivals Juventus in the Turin Derby at the Allianz Stadium, ending a run of three straight away defeats against the Old Lady.
It was Luciano Spalletti’s first Serie A home match in charge of Juventus, and his side quickly took control of possession. However, despite dominating the ball, they struggled to create clear chances in the first half. Their best moment came in the 41st minute when Francisco Conceição broke into the box and forced Paleari into a fine fingertip save, keeping the score level at the break.
Torino offered little going forward before half-time, but they started the second half brightly. Giovanni Simeone found the net just three minutes after the restart, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside following a VAR check. Substitute Ché Adams then went close, forcing Juve keeper Di Gregorio into a smart low save.
Paleari was called into action again later, making two quick stops to deny Jonathan David from close range and Weston McKennie’s header. Juventus pushed for a late winner, but Torino’s strong defending kept them out.
The result means Juventus remain unbeaten under Spalletti with one win and two draws, sitting fifth in the table, while Torino stay 11th after their third 0-0 draw in Serie A this season.
