Matthijs de Ligt scored a 96th-minute equaliser to give Manchester United a dramatic 2-2 Premier League draw against Tottenham Hotspur. The result extended United’s unbeaten run in matches against Spurs to eight games.
The game started cautiously, with neither side creating much early. Tottenham, who had conceded six of their eight league goals before half-time this season, fell behind when United scored from their first real chance. Amad Diallo’s cross found Bryan Mbeumo, who headed in at the near post, marking his fifth goal in nine appearances against Spurs.
Tottenham tried to fight back after half-time, but United’s goalkeeper Senne Lammens made key saves to keep them at bay. Spurs thought they had levelled through Brennan Johnson, but it was ruled offside.
Substitute Mathys Tel eventually brought Spurs back into the game, scoring within five minutes of coming on. Later, Wilson Odobert set up Richarlison, who put Spurs ahead. It looked like Tottenham would win, but United earned a corner in stoppage time. Bruno Fernandes delivered it to the back post, where De Ligt headed home to earn a point for the visitors.
