The final match of the Europa League, which was played by Eintracht Frankfurt and Glasgow Rangers, brought us a real spectacle, and Filip Kostic and his teammates reached the title after a better penalty shootout 1: 1 (5: 4).
Eintracht was better in the first half, but Kostic and the team could not find the key to the Rangers’ net. McGregor stood out with a couple of great interventions, but the concentration, in the end, was not at the level.
The Scots woke up in the second half, and that brought them the result in the 57th minute. Aribo uses the catastrophic mistake of Eintracht’s defense and scores for 1: 0!
However, Filip Kostic fired at the speed above, masterfully found Borre in the 69th minute, and he scored for 1: 1!
Before the goal, Kamada missed an incredible chance.
There were no goals until the end of the regular course of the match, so we went into overtime.
Both played reservedly, Eintracht was better in the first, and Rangers in the second overtime. A couple of attempts, the best of which came in the very finish when Trapp pulled out Eintracht with a masterful defense, however, without goals and it was clear – we are going to the penalty series!
The Eintracht players were more skillful and happier on the lime, Trapp defended Remzi’s penalty, and the players of the Frankfurt team lifted the trophy intended for the Europa League champion and secured a place in the Champions League next season.
Eintracht’s phenomenal goalkeeper Kevin Trapp has been named the player of the match!
