Shamrock Stars Sports Club hosts successful criterium in Ta' Sannat

Shamrock Stars Sports Club staged its subscription criterium race in Ta’ Sannat, Gozo, on Sunday, under favourable weather conditions. The event, held in compliance with Malta Cycling Federation regulations, featured competitive racing across a full range of categories.

In the Under-12 Boys category, Zachary Vella (Mosta CC) won ahead of teammates Raphael Buhagiar and Nolan Tabone. Ethan Cumbo (Team Greens) took the Under-14 Boys title after three laps, followed by Kurt Grech (Mosta CC) and Ayden Vella (D Sports Lab), while Mickaya Fava (Shamrock Stars) won the girls’ equivalent.

Neil Cassar (Team Greens) claimed the Under-16 Boys race ahead of Gop Ping (Bike It Up Racing) and Jake Refalo (Shamrock Stars), with Zia Fiji (Shamrock Stars) winning the girls’ race ahead of Nina Debono Curmi (D Sports Lab) and Katie-Anne Vella Wood.

Liran Ben-Ari (Agones SFC) won the Masters 40+ category, with Arek Kawalek and Gesred Borg (both Team Greens) in second and third. David Cushing (Bike It Up Racing) took the Masters 50+ title ahead of Joseph Caruana (Team Greens), while Andrei Cassone (Agones SFC) won the Juniors race.

Lindsey Pirotta claimed the Women’s category, with Michelle Vella Wood and Katinka Zahra Lehtonen (both Team Greens) completing the podium. The Elite race concluded with a final sprint won by Antoine Magaud (Agones SFC) ahead of two Bike It Up Racing riders.
