Nuno Espirito Santo is no longer the coach of Al Ittihad.
Talks about the dismissal started a few months ago, since the quarrel with Karim Benzema, but the club announced that the bad results had an effect on the termination of cooperation.
Nuno Espirito Santo won the Super Cup and the championship in the first season, but it was quickly forgotten, so the former coach of Valencia, Porto, Wolverhampton and Tottenham became a former coach at Al Ittihad.
Al Ittihad has gone five games without a win and is in 6th place in the Saudi Premier League with 21 points.
During Al Ittihad’s last bad result in the Asian Champions League and the draw against Al Kuwait, at halftime, there was a conflict between the Portuguese and the French in the dressing room. Nuno Espirito Santo criticized the players for their commitment, and Benzema objected.
Al Ittihad’s press release states: “After extensive analysis, we decided that a change on the bench is necessary. Al Ittihad would like to thank Nuno Santo for everything he has done for the club so far.
“The Spanish “Revelo” stated that the Portuguese coach will be replaced by a French one, which is allegedly the wish of Karim Benzema, who has always had a bad relationship with the coach.
