12 Maltese and 4 foreign coaches start UEFA PRO Diploma Course

The 3rd edition of the UEFA PRO Diploma Course, the highest football certification in European football, kicked off in the last week of November with a 4-day module of intensive theoretical and practical coach education sessions that are intended to provide the 16 participating coaches with all the tools and experiences to eventually be eligible to coach in Malta’s and Europe’s top football divisions.

The course which is spread over 2 football seasons consists of 430 hours of experiential learning ruled by the UEFA Coaching Convention.

During these months the coaches participating in this course will have the opportunity to go through all the important elements of football coaching in a learning environment that will promote networking, sharing experiences, and discussing practical football ideas with local and foreign UEFA-qualified instructors.

Michele Marcolini, the Technical Director of the Malta FA, and Herman Bugeja, Head of Coach Education, inaugurated the initial module of the course, featuring sessions led by prominent figures such as Ivan Woods, coach of the Malta U21 National Team, Vincenzo Potenza, the present coach of Valletta FC in the MPL, and Luca Pagani, Head of Performance at the Malta FA, alongside other distinguished lecturers.

The coaches participating in the 3rd edition of the Malta FA UEFA PRO Course are Orosco Anonam,  Danijel Bogdanovic, Andrew Cohen, Saviour Debono Grech, Jean-Paul Desira, Pablo Cesar Doffo, Hugo Faria, Joseph Galea, Jonathan Holland,  Francesco Macri, Ryan Pulis, André Schembri, Brian Said, Darren Vella, Etienne Vella and Alessandro Zinnari.
