Maltese referee team appointed for UEFA Youth League clash in Belgrade

UEFA has appointed FIFA referee Ishmael Barbara to officiate the UEFA Youth League Domestic Path Third Round first leg between FK Crvena Zvezda of Serbia and MSK Žilina of Slovakia, marking another significant European assignment for the experienced Maltese match official.

Barbara will head a fully Maltese refereeing team on the field. He will be assisted by FIFA assistant referees James Muscat and Duncan Spencer, both of whom continue to feature regularly in international fixtures. Serbia match official Stefan Jeknić has been designated as the fourth official for this encounter.

The match will be played at the Rajko Mitić Youth Stadium in Belgrade, a ground renowned for its intense atmosphere and strong youth development tradition, with Crvena Zvezda consistently producing some of the region’s most talented emerging players. The tie marks an important stage in the Domestic Path route, with qualification to the knockout phase on the line.
