Galatasaray S.K. were crowned Turkish Super Lig champions for the 26th time in their history following an entertaining 4-2 victory over Antalyaspor, with striker Mauro Icardi using the moment to send a powerful message to his critics.
The Argentine forward took to social media shortly after the title celebrations, posting a series of images alongside partner China Suárez while reflecting on the criticism he has faced during his four years in Turkey.
“During these four years I have heard everything,” Icardi wrote on Instagram. “That I was overweight, too skinny, finished, injured, out of shape, or no longer the same player.”
The former Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain striker then responded directly to those questioning his level and professionalism, insisting his performances continue to speak louder than the headlines surrounding him.
“Maybe you were right,” he added. “But the numbers and statistics speak for themselves. I invite you to look at them. Every day there was a new excuse, a new headline, a new lie to sell stories and try to discredit me. But time always puts everything back in its place.”
Icardi has remained one of Galatasaray’s most decisive players despite periods of injury and intense scrutiny surrounding both his form and personal life. His goals once again proved crucial as the Istanbul giants secured another league crown in dominant fashion.

The 33 year old also reserved special praise for the Galatasaray supporters, thanking them for standing by him during difficult moments throughout his time at the club.

“When things become difficult, when the pressure is high and you really need to take responsibility, only a few have the ability to change history,” he said. “Thank you to those who never stopped believing in me, singing for me, supporting me and defending me even during the hardest moments. The love you have given me over these four years is worth more than any invented lie.”
The emotional message quickly gained traction across social media as Galatasaray supporters celebrated another league triumph, while Icardi once again reminded many why he remains one of the most clinical forwards in Turkish football.
