Graham Borg has continued his impressive comeback season with another strong performance, this time winning his age category at a sprint triathlon in Mazara del Vallo, Sicily. Competing in the FITri race series, Borg produced a well-balanced race across all three disciplines and finished 14th overall in a strong field of 154 male athletes. His time of 1:00:19 marked a new season best and underlined his excellent current form.
Borg started the race strongly with a swim of 10:52 before delivering one of the standout performances of the day on the bike. He completed the 20km cycling section in 29:17, recording the second-fastest bike split overall. He then finished the 5km run in 20:08 to secure victory in the Masters 2 category and improve his previous sprint triathlon best by around three minutes.
The result comes just one week after Borg completed a full Ironman in Tours, France, where he set a new personal best over the long-distance format. That race included a 3.8km swim, 180km bike ride and 42.2km run, which he completed in 9 hours and 33 minutes, improving his previous best set in Barcelona in 2018. He delivered a particularly strong bike leg, finishing the 180km section in 4:38 and ranking second in his age group.

During the marathon, Borg remained in podium contention until around the 35km mark, but the heat in the final stages made conditions more difficult and he eased his pace over the last 5km. He still finished 7th in his age category from 257 competitors and 89th overall among more than 2,200 male finishers.
These results highlight a strong return to competitive triathlon for Borg, who has quickly returned to top form in his comeback season. With consistent podium finishes in Italy and a new Ironman personal best already achieved, his season has shown clear progress across both sprint and long-distance events.
