Former Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova and British number two Cameron Norrie have withdrawn from the U.S. Open, according to the USTA’s announcement on Friday. Both players are currently recovering from injuries that prevented their participation in the Paris Olympics.

Vondrousova, hailing from the Czech Republic, decided to withdraw from the Games due to a hand injury. She expressed her primary focus on being fully prepared for the final Grand Slam of the year, scheduled to commence on August 26th in New York.

As for Norrie, who achieved his best U.S. Open performance in 2022 by reaching the fourth round, he had to step back from the Olympics owing to a forearm injury. In an Instagram post, he mentioned taking some time off to rest and recharge, eagerly anticipating his return to competitive action.
