Luca van Assche expressed his impressions after the duel with Novak Djokovic in Banja Luka.
The French tennis player had a great start to the competition at the Serbian Open, as he eliminated Stan Wawrinka in the first round and scheduled a duel with the world number one.
Van Assche did not disappoint in the second round either, as he proved to be an equal opponent to the Serbian ace, taking the first set after a tie-break – 7:6.
Later, Djokovic got into the rhythm and celebrated after the reversal (6:7, 6:3, 6:2), but after the match he had only words of praise for the 87th tennis player in the world.
“He is young, he has a bright future ahead of him. He is very fast, agile. He plays quality tennis. It has a complete game. The fact that everyone plays is perhaps a good prelude to a coaching career,” Djokovic said.
