The Cincinnati Open gets under way on Thursday as the world’s leading players continue their preparations for the final Grand Slam of the season.
The tournament, which runs until 23 August, represents the last major stop on the North American hard-court swing before the US Open begins later this month.
However, the men’s event will be without two of its biggest names, with world number one Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz both withdrawing.
Their absence opens up the draw as players look to build form and confidence ahead of Flushing Meadows.
