Stefanos Tsitsipas avoided elimination in 5 sets

Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas advanced to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open.

With a five-set victory over Taylor Fritz- 4:6, 6:4, 4: 6, 6:3, 6:4, the world’s fourth player moved into the top eight.

The match in Melbourne lasted three hours and 26 minutes.

Taylor Fritz started the match well by winning the first set, but Tsitsipas responded with the same measure.

Fritz was also better in the third set, with a break in surplus, so he was one step away from victory.

However, Stefanos slipped through and, with two tied sets, he managed to reach the quarterfinals, where a duel against Jannik Sinner awaits him.
