Roger Federer to be inducted into International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2026

Swiss tennis icon Roger Federer will be officially inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in August 2026, in a ceremony to be held in Newport, Rhode Island.

Federer, who retired in 2022, was the first male player to reach 20 Grand Slam singles titles, and finished his career with 103 titles overall on the ATP Tour. Between 2004 and 2008, he held the world number one ranking for a record 237 consecutive weeks, and spent 310 weeks in total at the top of the ATP rankings, underlining his dominance at the very highest level.

In a statement released by the International Tennis Hall of Fame, the 44-year-old described the honour as “deeply humbling,” adding that he has always valued the history of the sport and the example set by those who came before him. Federer said he is looking forward to travelling to Newport next August to celebrate the occasion with the tennis community.

Federer’s career helped define a golden era for men’s tennis, alongside long-time rivals Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. Their battles across Grand Slams and Masters events captivated global audiences and pushed standards in the sport to new heights.

The induction will see Federer join an exclusive group of just 270 players and contributors from 28 nations who have been honoured in the Hall of Fame. The 2026 celebration weekend in Newport, scheduled for 27–29 August 2026, will include exhibition events and fan activities alongside the formal ceremony.
