The best tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic, pointed out that he has no plans to slow down when it comes to winning the biggest trophies in tennis.
On Sunday, Novak won the 97th cup in his career, the 40th Masters and the seventh trophy at the tournament in Paris.
“I try to be a good student of this game and keep up with the numbers, but at the same time, I want to focus my attention on the next challenge. As long as I am an active player that will be the mentality that will keep me going. I won this, but it’s already behind me. Of course I’m proud of my achievement, but I’m already turning a new page,” Djokovic began.
“Fortunately or unfortunately, it works for me and I mentally move forward. Because while I’m still active, I want to win even more and continue to play at the highest level. “Grand slams and masters are the most important tournaments in our sport,” says Novak.
One of the few records that he does not hold is for the total number of titles in his career, which is still undisputed by Jimmy Connors.
“Why wouldn’t I break that record too? Now I have 12 less, but also several more successful years of tennis ahead of me. I try to enjoy the moments that now mean more and are worth twice as much. When you see the stage of my career, winning every tournament means. Although it seems routine, every victory at the Masters or Grand Slam means a lot to me”, concluded Djokovic.
