Linda Noskova and Karolina Muchova helped the Czech Republic win their first Billie Jean King Cup title since 2018 after beating Ukraine 2-0 in the final in Shenzhen on Sunday.
Muchova put the Czechs ahead with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Anhelina Kalinina before Noskova secured the title with a 6-3, 7-6(5) win over world number seven Elina Svitolina.
The victory gave the Czech Republic their 12th Billie Jean King Cup title. Noskova and Muchova had already made history earlier this year by meeting in the first all-Czech women’s final at Wimbledon.
Czech captain Barbora Strycova also made history by becoming only the fourth woman to win the competition both as a player and a captain, joining Margaret Court, Chris Evert and Billie Jean King.

Ukraine were playing in their first-ever Billie Jean King Cup final after eliminating defending champions Italy in the semi-finals.
