Nadal: Sport is about winning and losing, not retirement...

The Spaniard Rafael Nadal could not calm down after his first victory at the US Open, so he was now talking about retirement.

Rafa currently has the highest number of Grand Slam titles with 22, while Novak Djokovic has 21, and Roger Federer, who is about to retire, has 20.

-” Retirement is even more difficult than defeat. Sport is about winning and losing, not retirement. When you retire, you can no longer compete. It’s a much worse feeling than defeat, isn’t it? However, what happened happened and it’s all part of my tennis career. I have excellent results this year, but also difficult moments because I had problems with my foot, ribs, tearing of the abdominal muscle…”

-” A lot has happened to me in the past seven months. I don’t want to complain too much though. I’ve been through a lot, but I was able to win tournaments and get to the position I’m in now. I won now too, didn’t I? I’m in the second round of the US Open and that’s the most important thing for me,” said Rafael Nadal.

In the second round of the last Grand Slam, Nadal has a duel against Fabio Fognini.
