Due to manipulating the results of matches during 2019, a referee from the Dominican Republic received a lifetime ban for engaging in this business.
It was proven that Fabian Carrero committed 16 violations in eight matches at tournaments held in the Dominican Republic in November and December 2019.
According to the statement of the International Tennis Integrity Agency, Carrero manipulated the results “to enable guaranteed winnings in betting on a certain number of points”.
“The sanction means that Carrero is permanently banned from refereeing or attending any tennis tournament organized or recognized by the governing bodies of this sport,” the body that ensures its integrity points out.
