Nick Kyrgios will perform at the tournament in Tokyo this week in both singles and doubles competitions.
People wondered why he has not focused only on singles matches, but he revealed what he was talking about.
“Tennis is terribly stressful in singles, you always try to hold on as best you can, you are on the court sometimes for three hours and everything is so serious and exhausting. Playing doubles with Thanasi brings that element of fun. At the same time, it’s also my job, I need money, that’s why I play in both competitions,” says Kyrgios and adds:
In singles, he is satisfied with how he has played so far.
” Towards the end of the match I played great, I simply forgot how fast this court is and how well it can be played on. I started to play more aggressively, in the right way, I stopped just returning the ball, I was looking for winners from all positions.”
