Jannik Sinner decided to give up the match in the round of 16 against Artur Fils without a fight.
Because of this surrender, Fils placed among the top eight in this competition of the ATP 250 Series.
The second seed in the tournament pointed out that he was not feeling well and that he surrendered the match for that reason.
“Even after the tournament in Rotterdam, I started to feel weak. In the last few days, I had less energy and could not train well. I also have a low temperature. We waited until the last moment to decide, but unfortunately, my body is not in a good condition”, said Sinner.
This is the second withdrawal in this tournament on the same day.
