US OPEN HANDS TIED: We couldn't ask for an exemption for Djokovic!

Novak Djokovic will not participate in the US Open, as was expected. Now the organizers of the tournament say that they could not possibly change the decision!

The Serbian tennis player will miss the second Grand Slam due to the decision not to receive the vaccine due to COVID.

It was speculated for a long time that the Serb could get an exemption and be on the list of participants in America, but that did not happen.

This forced the tennis public to criticize the organization of the tournament itself, stressing that Novak participated in this Grand Slam in the midst of the pandemic in 2020 and 2021.

– We were also in contact with the State Department, border and customs services. The rules have been changed and unlike in 2020 and 2021, no one from the outside can ask for an exemption. The Government does not consider such requests. It was established in October 2021 and we could do absolutely nothing – says the US Open’s response to the criticism sent to the account.
