Djokovic: I'm going for all possible records, that's why people don't like me

Novak Djokovic continued to push boundaries in tennis and won the trophy at the Masters in Paris.

The Serbian tennis player stated that he is hungry for success and in a way responded to Nadal’s statement from a few weeks ago, when the Spaniard said that Novak would be frustrated if he did not have the most Grand Slam titles won.

“I’m going for all possible records, wherever I can win. I’ve never had a problem saying that. And that’s why people don’t like me. I didn’t pretend like some others, saying that it wasn’t my goal, and then behaved differently… I always tried to be consistent with what I believe in,” Novak Djokovic clearly presented.

Despite health problems, Novak won the title in Paris.

“Considering the circumstances I faced, I have to say that this victory has more value than the others, especially at this stage of my career. I don’t even know where I am in my career. That’s why it seems to me that every victory is worth twice as much. It’s fantastic that I won the tournament, but it’s already behind me. I am proud of what I have achieved, however, I am moving on immediately. Fortunately or unfortunately, this is how I operate. That’s the right mentality. While I’m active, I want to win, to play at the highest level, grand slams, masters, these are the most valuable tournaments.”

By the end of the year, Novak Djokovic will play in the final Masters in Turin and the Davis Cup in Malaga.

“I try to get everything I can. I only need one win to be “number one” at the end of the season. In addition, I have a big goal in the Davis Cup. I’m going to put my racket down for a few days, spend time with my family, recharge my batteries and then go to Turin where every match will be a bit like a final, because eight of the best players in the world are waiting for us. I had a perfect result last year, I love playing there, I have built a good relationship with the Italian crowd. I’m full of confidence, I haven’t lost many matches since the Wimbledon final, I hope to finish this season in style. If he finished “number one” and with the Davis Cup trophy, those are my two main goals,” Novak Djokovic presented.
