A big surprise happened at the Australian Open, the British Andy Murray defeated the Italian Matteo Berrettini in the first round of the tournament in Melbourne.
Mari, who was on the verge of ending his career, defeated the Italian after five sets, with a score of 6:3, 6:3, 4:6, 6:7 (7), 7:6 (6).
The duel was played on the central court – Rod Laver Arena and lasted almost five full hours.
The fans were delighted with this victory.
Murray routinely won the first two sets with 6:3 in both, and in the third set Mateo retaliated in a similar way, broke, preserved it and reduced the lead.
This was followed by a great game by Berrettini who, in the fourth set, until the end of the set, gave an excellent fight back to Murray, who played like from his best days.
The fourth set went to a tie-break in which the Italian celebrated and reached a great tie.
However, in the last decisive set, the experience of Andy won when he celebrated in the continuation of the set, which delighted everyone present, so he received the biggest ovation so far.
