After the confirmation that Novak Djokovic will play in the ATP Cup in Australia has arrived, now the confirmation has arrived that the Serbian has registered for the Australian Open!
The first Grand Slam of the season will be played from January 17 to 30 in Melbourne. He is officially registered for the Australian Open, where only vaccinated tennis players can play, as well as for the ATP Cup, where he is also registered.
Everyone who will play in Sydney at the ATP Cup will also play at the Australian Open in Melbourne, the director of the ATP Cup announced.
Let us remind you, Djokovic did not want to reveal at any moment whether he was vaccinated against coronavirus or not, but apparently – it can be concluded that he did because that is one of the conditions for participating in the tournament.
According to local media, all those on the list have either been vaccinated or are entitled to an exception.
The list of applicants for the competition in Melbourne also includes Daniil Medvedev, Alexandar Zverev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Andrei Rublev, Rafael Nadal, Matteo Berrettini, Hubert Hurkacz, Jannik Sinner, Dominic Thiem… Among the Serbian tennis players on the list of 39 names is Dusan Lajovic.
When it comes to other big names, Roger Federer, for example, is not among the applicants, nor is Stan Wawrinka.
Let us remind you, however, that the application does not guarantee that the player will participate in the tournament.
