Danil Medvedev decided to miss the tournament in Rotterdam and thus extend Novak Djokovic’s stay at the top of the ATP list!
The Russian tennis player is disappointed with the treatment he received in Australia. He went so far as to say that his dreams were ruined.
On top of all that, he was defeated in the final by Rafael Nadal, after a 2-0 lead in sets.
By missing the tournament in Rotterdam, as we have already written above, he secured Djokovic an even longer stay at the top of the ATP list.
The Russian announced this news to his fans.
- I will not play in Rotterdam. I just got back from Australia and I don’t feel ready. I hope to be in Rotterdam in the future – Medvedev wrote, as reported by ATP Portal.
The difference between Novak and Medvedev will now be exactly 100 points, while the Serb is expecting a tournament in Dubai.
