David Pace to compete in the ITTF World Table Tennis Masters in Rome

Maltese veteran table tennis player David Pace will be competing in the ITTF World Table Tennis Masters Championships to be held between July 6th and 14th.

These championships will be taking place in Rome with a record entry of 6,000 athletes. Pace will be the only Maltese player and shall compete in the Men’s Singles 55+, the Mixed Doubles 55+ with Italian partner Roberta Negriolli, and in the Men’s Doubles 40+ with Swiss partner Olivier Stryjski.

His training on the table is at an average of three times a week and physical preparation for such a demanding championship is up to five days a week. Mental preparation is also ongoing as this plays a big factor when faced with such a long competition with the potential of encountering such a wide variety of opponents. The draws have not yet come out and but he looks forward to starting the qualifying rounds on a high.
