Bormla Subbuteo Club enjoyed a successful weekend at the Athens Major, securing strong results in both the Individual Veterans and Team categories.
On Saturday, Jason Pisani claimed the Individual Veterans title after defeating fellow Bormla SC player Charles Aquilina 4-3 in a shootout, following a 1-1 draw in the final.

Pisani reached the final with a 2-1 quarter-final victory over Maltese player John Zammit of Stembert, before overcoming Greek player Prombonas of Rooligans by the same score in the semi-finals.
Aquilina also impressed on his way to the final, beating Pasquale Torano of Ferrara 1-0 in the quarter-finals before edging Alberto Di Maggio of Bologna Tigers 4-3 on shots after their semi-final ended 1-1.
A total of 45 players from Malta, Italy, Austria and Greece took part in the Veterans category.
On Sunday, Bormla SC continued their impressive form in the Team Category, earning another international podium finish after reaching the final of the Major. They faced Valletta SC, the only other Maltese side in the 29-team competition, which also included clubs from Italy, Belgium and Greece. Valletta SC won the final 3-0.
Bormla SC had topped Group A with victories over Greek sides Rooligans B and Crimson B, both by 4-0 scorelines, before defeating Noctuas 2-1. In the quarter-finals, they beat Atlas of Greece 2-1, then secured their place in the final with a 2-1 extra-time victory over Falcons of Greece.
The Bormla SC team was composed of Charles Aquilina, Jason Pisani, Bessim Golger and Josef Camilleri.
The tournament was supported by SportMalta through the International Assistance Scheme, with additional backing from VisitMalta, Mykonos by Yiammas, Prima Holidays, Euroclub Hotel, EJCS, Fairbet, Mamzinobet, Cospicua Dynamos and the Bormla Local Council.
