Malta is once again set to welcome a wave of international swimming talent as the 32nd Edition of the Easter International Swimming Meet splashes into action between April 23 and 26, 2025, at the National Pool Complex in Tal-Qroqq.
This much-anticipated event, a fixture on the local and international swimming calendar, is poised to deliver four action-packed days of high-level competition. The format features morning Heats and afternoon Finals, creating an intense and dynamic atmosphere where every swim counts.
What elevates this year’s meet even further is its official World Aquatics Qualifying status, offering swimmers a crucial opportunity to hit qualifying times for the World Swimming Championships, set to take place in Singapore this July. For many, it will be the last big chance to secure a spot on the world stage.
A record total of 476 athletes will take to the water, entered in a whopping 2,430 individual events along with 42 relay team entries—a testament to the meet’s growing prestige and competitiveness.
Of the participants, 387 are Maltese swimmers, showcasing the incredible depth and rising standards of swimming in Malta. These local athletes will have the unique chance to test themselves against a strong field of 89 foreign swimmers representing eight countries: Moldova, Romania, Panama, North Macedonia, Italy, Germany, Sweden, and Poland. Their presence is sure to raise the level of competition and provide valuable international experience for all involved.
The Easter International Swimming Meet is not just a qualifier; it’s a celebration of swimming excellence, sportsmanship, and international camaraderie. With a diverse field and the added pressure of World Championship qualification, this year’s edition promises to be one of the most exciting yet.
