The Aquatic Sports Association of Malta has announced minor adjustments to the final day’s schedule of the prestigious COOP Services 32nd Easter International Swimming Meet in light of the National Day of Mourning and the funeral of Pope Francis, scheduled for Saturday morning.
This internationally recognized meet, which serves as a World Aquatics Qualifying Event for the upcoming World Swimming Championships in Singapore, is also the designated selection platform for various other elite international competitions.

🕒 Adjusted Schedule – Saturday, 26th April 2025:
- Morning Heats Session: Rescheduled to start at 12:00 noon (instead of the usual 09:00).
- Evening Finals Session: Rescheduled to begin at 18:00 (instead of 17:00).
In Respect of the Occasion:
- A minute of silence will be observed before the start of each session.
- No music will be played during the day’s events, maintaining a respectful atmosphere throughout the competition.
The ASA emphasized that while the event maintains global sporting significance, it equally values the cultural and national sentiment surrounding this solemn moment.
