Gozo were crowned champions of the Street Football Mini World Cup after beating Brazil in a thrilling final at the 3-a-side pitch in Buġibba.
The final ended 2-2 before Gozo secured victory through a golden goal, with Matteo Camilleri scoring the winner. Ian Zarb had earlier scored both of Gozo’s goals during normal time.
Gozo enjoyed an impressive run throughout the tournament. They opened with a thrilling 4-4 draw against Spain before playing out another high-scoring 6-6 draw with Brazil in the group stage. They then recorded a convincing 5-0 win over United Africa and booked their place in the final with a 4-0 victory over Malta.
The tournament also featured Malta, England, France, Portugal, Colombia and United Africa, making for an exciting competition.
Following the final, organisers Maria Coppola and James Almeida presented the trophies and awards to the winning teams and individual participants.
