German football player Thomas Muller said goodbye to the national team after “Elf” finished the tournament in Qatar already in the group stage.
In the last round of the group stage, Germany beat Costa Rica 4:2, but it was not enough to qualify for the knockout stage of the World Cup! So, the Germans are going home, and Tomas Muller has hung up his jersey with the national team – the experienced, 33-year-old Bayern Munich player said goodbye to the national team.
“This was my last match. It was a great pleasure. I did everything out of love. We had some amazing moments together. In every match, I always tried to leave my heart on the field,” said Muller.
He went through all the junior selections of the national team and made his first appearance for the senior selection of Germany in 2010. He played 121 games and scored 44 goals.
He was the world champion with the national team in 2014 in Brazil.
