The Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho points out that he is not surprised by the defeat of Germany by Japan in the first round of the Qatar World Cup.
Although Germany was an absolute favorite in this match, Roma’s coach sees Japan’s victory as a “crazy surprise” in this competition.
“To be honest, the victory of Japan over Germany was not a crazy surprise. Japan has a good team, and in many ways, the mentality can decide. European football is much more focused on individuals. I trained Asian players, I trained the best Asian player and their mentality is really something special, ” Mourinho said.
Japan will play against Costa Rica in the next round in group E, while Germany will play against Spain.
