Karim Benzema, officially the best soccer player on the planet, could join the French national team in the knockout stage of the competition in Qatar.
The French Football Federation (FFF) announced on November 19 that Benzema will miss the World Cup due to a quadriceps injury in his left thigh. The announcement then stated that he will have to take a break for three weeks.
French coach Didier Deschamps decided to take 25 players to Qatar, as he did not call for a replacement for Benzema, thus leaving the possibility for the Real player to join the “Gallic Roosters” at the biggest sports event.
The Spanish media state that the Real players, who are not playing in the World Cup, will start preparations for the continuation of the season on Thursday, and the 34-year-old from Lyon should be among them.
Some Spanish media point out that there is even a possibility that Benzema will join the French national team in the knockout phase of the World Cup in Qatar, but the leaders of the FFF did not want to comment on this information.
