Maltese international wrestling referee Abraham Vassallo continues to build his international credentials after being appointed to officiate at the final event of the United World Wrestling (UWW) Ranking Series in Budapest this week.
The appointment follows Vassallo’s recent officiating duties at the Gran Premio de España in Madrid, where he represented Malta at another major international wrestling competition.

More than 40 countries are expected to compete at both events, with the UWW Ranking Series bringing together many of the world’s leading wrestlers, including Olympic, World and European champions.
Officiating at such a high-profile tournament represents another important step in Vassallo’s career as he continues his bid to secure selection as an official for this year’s Mediterranean Games in Taranto.
His participation at these international events has been made possible through the support of the Maltese Olympic Committee.
