Ranked Sixth in the World, Bormla’s Players Excel in Individual Competitions

Bormla Subbuteo Club recently made waves in the FISTF Grand Prix of Vienna, reaching the semi-finals of the prestigious tournament. Although they lost 1-2 to the winners, Bolognia Tigers, Bormla’s journey to the semis was an impressive feat.

In the group stage, they dominated Group B, securing wins against Gorizia (3-0) and Avenir Hennuyer Belgium (4-0), and drawing 2-2 against Royal Kaisermuhlen Austria. This gave them direct passage to the semi-finals, where they faced off against Bolognia Tigers.

Bormla Subbuteo Club’s players, including Charlie Aquilina, Jason Pisani, Bessim Golger, George Ebejer, and John Zammit, showcased their exceptional skills throughout the tournament. Their performance wasn’t limited to the team event, as individual players also excelled in their respective competitions.

Jason Pisani, in particular, reached the semi-finals of the veteran event, where he put up an impressive fight before losing 2-3 to Hinkelman Austria. Meanwhile, Katherina Waldorf Busch Austria shone in the ladies event, reaching the final.

Bormla Subbuteo Club’s outstanding performance in the FISTF Grand Prix of Vienna has solidified their position as one of the top-ranking teams in the world. Their players’ individual successes only add to their reputation as a formidable force in the world of table football.
