Luke Borg and Diana Muscat Win the 2026 Series title
The last race of the Cisk 0.0 Cross Country Series was held at Miżieb on Saturday afternoon in very hot weather, which proved tough for many riders. Several class titles were still undecided, and the overall Series winners were not yet known heading into the day.
In the Elite category, Luke Borg took charge from the start, keen to wrap up the Series title, with Clyve Chetcuti pushing him hard throughout. Borg kept his cool, crossed the line first, and won both the race and the overall Series title. Behind them, Mark Bonnici, Brandon Sultana and Etienne Bonello battled closely for third place over six laps, with Bonello eventually taking the final podium spot.
Marie Claire Aquilina, who had missed the first two races, pushed to the front of the women’s race straight away but had to pull out in the second lap. This allowed Diana Muscat to finish the Series without a defeat and claim the class title, with Fiona Tedesco coming in second.
Josmar Vella won the Sport category race ahead of Raz Voskoboinik, also taking the class title, with Keith Bartolo and Roderick Borg completing the top four.
Alex Portelli, Gordon Zahra and Jamie Camilleri finished on the 40+ podium. Portelli’s steady performances throughout the Series gave him a comfortable lead and the class title, with the race result matching the overall Series standings.
Stephen Grima won the 50+ race despite picking up several punctures, finishing ahead of Carmelo Abela and Domenic Cutajar. However, missing the first race hurt him in the overall standings, with Cutajar taking the class title ahead of Grima and Abela.
Junior Categories
In the U19 Boys, Ryan Gatt won the race ahead of Matthias Abela Criminale and took the Series title, with Andrea Cassone and Abela Criminale filling the remaining spots.
Neil Cassar’s solid performances throughout earned him the U17 Boys title, while Katie Anne Vella Wood secured the U17 Girls title with an equally consistent campaign.
In the U15 Girls, Kim Micallef Cann won two races, but it was Amy St John who took the overall title thanks to having competed in one extra race. In the U15 Boys, Ethan Cumbo led comfortably with Zack Saliba and Jake Said close behind, though the final Series standings saw Cumbo, Saliba and Kurt Grech take the top three places.
Nolan Tabone and Nick Said topped the U12 Boys, with Amy Micallef Cann claiming the U12 Girls title.

The Malta Mountain Bike Association will be holding its National Championships on Sunday 19th July.
