Malta’s young footballers delivered a performance to remember at the 2025 World School Games in Barcelona, returning home with an impressive haul of three trophies after a weekend of exhilarating matches, teamwork, and exemplary sportsmanship.
Competing among 78 teams from 40 schools across 20 nations, Malta’s school representatives stood tall at this prestigious international event, all striving for the coveted title of World Champions of School Football. The tournament took place at Futbol Salou’s state-of-the-art facilities, part of the renowned Mediterranean Sports Hub.
From the opening whistle, the Maltese delegation displayed unwavering determination, discipline, and a strong sense of unity and qualities that defined every match they played. Their collective efforts were justly rewarded, as Team Malta secured three major trophies, marking one of the most successful campaigns for Maltese schools on this stage in recent memory.

Yet, the World School Games were about more than just silverware. Our athletes enjoyed a truly enriching cultural and sporting experience, seizing the chance to compete internationally, forge new friendships, exchange ideas, and proudly embody Malta’s renowned spirit of resilience and fair play.
