Malta kickboxing team with huge medal haul at ISKA World Championships

The Maltese national kickboxing team returned home with 13 medals and ranked 14th out of 35 nations after competing in the ISKA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP hosted in Vienna, Austria.


Despite the incredible number of 1070 kickboxers competing in such an event the Maltese team managed to secure four gold, three silver, and six bronze medals. With such an achievement the Malta kickboxing team moved up a position in the overall rankings from the previous year’s placement thanks to this incredible accomplishment.


Gold medalist:
Ahweafa Garenne -50 kg 18+ Muay Thai;
Celeste Galea: -65kg Low kick;
Faris Lukovic: Muay Thai;
Jake Gomez Blanco: 80+kg K1 light.

Silver medalists:
Victor Galea -50 kg 15 to 17 K1 light;
Jesred Piscopo: -70kg Low kick;
Skyler Bezzina- 60kg 15 to 17 k1 light .

Bronze medalist:
Celeste Galea: -65kg 18+ K1;
Faris Lukovic: -90kg K1;
Borko Stanojcic: -75kg Low Kick ;
Singleton Toriano: -80kg Low Kick;
Bajic Milivoje: -85kg Low Kick ;
Ahweafa Garenne : -50 kg 18+ K1.


Furthermore, during the event the Maltese MKBA Mr. Isaac Chetchuti had the opportunity to introduce the ISKA European Champions 2025, which will take place in Malta.


This great opportunity emerged after the exceptional performance of our Maltese fighters during such a high-level event and the amazing job being done with the ISKA organisation by MKBA Malta, under the direction of its president, Mr. Cetchuti.


Mr. Cetchuti, speaking on behalf of the Maltese Kickboxing Association, would like to congratulate all of the Maltese fighters on their outstanding performance during the entire competition. Under the direction of head coach Master Noel Mercieca, he also conveyed his gratitude for the incredible job done by Maltese coaches. Mr. Cetchuti concluded by thanking sponsors and government organisations as well as everyone else who supports local kickboxing.
