Malta has hosted its first-ever Walking Hockey event as part of the Small Initiatives Support Scheme (SIS) programme.
The aim of the activity was to promote inclusion in sport and encourage people of all ages and abilities to take part. This included complete beginners, former hockey players, and members of the public.
More than 20 people took part, forming four teams. The focus was on participation, movement, and enjoyment rather than competition.
Coaches were present throughout the event to explain the rules, which do not allow running or hitting the ball with force.

The event created a relaxed and social setting while introducing a new and accessible form of hockey in Malta.
