The 2026 Tour de France returns on Tuesday with a demanding Stage 10 from Aurillac to Le Lioran, where the general classification contenders are expected to resume their battle after Monday’s rest day.
The 166.6km mountain stage features almost 3,800 metres of climbing through the rugged Massif Central, including three major ascents before a challenging finish in Le Lioran. The route mirrors the dramatic finale used in 2024, when Jonas Vingegaard edged Tadej Pogačar in a thrilling sprint.
Defending champion Tadej Pogačar begins the stage in the yellow jersey after successfully retaining the race lead during Sunday’s heat-shortened Stage 9, which was won by Mathieu van der Poel.
With the first rest day now over, attention turns back to the overall contenders. Pogačar, Jonas Vingegaard, Remco Evenepoel and Isaac del Toro are all expected to challenge for victory on a stage that could reshape the general classification before the race heads deeper into the mountains.
